Perseid observing 2015 on Sudelfeld

327 meteors in the night Wednesday/Thursday, August 12/13, 2015:

The Perseid maximum was favorable this year, close to New Moon, although within the workweek. I had taken the whole week
off, and was already back from two excellent observing nights in the Austrian "Nockberge" (alt. site 2040 m), when I joined our
classical VSW-club meeting on Sudelfeld. We were eventually 11 folks, among them some "old hands", but also four newbies,
who experienced an Alpine night in the sleeping bag - looking for meteors - for the first time.

We had excellent conditions in a mild high summer night; what was 35 (°C) (=95°F) "Dog days" weather during the day,
were agreeable 18 (°C) - 20 (°C) by night (~ 66°F), maybe a bit less in the morning. I fell asleep around midnight for perhaps
one and a half hours, but was awake again when many meteors appeared around 3:00 A.M. It was a great event !

(P=Perseid, or. "Sporadic"), constellation of appearance and magnitude

Excerpt from Hans-Georg's protocol

This page concerns the hour after 11:00 P.M., i.e. the bright greenish
mag -5 Perseid meteor appeared around 11:27 P.M.
