A clear night at Taubenberg

Sunday evening - February 23, 2014

An alt. 900 m hill in the Alpine Uplands, with Manfred and Ralph, observing with Ralph's 20" for 3 hours. A clear night with both good seeing
and transparency, of course with the amount of light pollution to be expected in a distance of less than 40 km from downtown Munich. And in
the dusk we already heard the hooting of the Tawny Owls, which often develops into an hours-long concerto during springtime here.

In the eyepiece M42, moreover we observed the rich clusters NGC 2506 und NGC 2194 in
this region as well as the "Eskimo Nebula" NGC 2392 and Hubble's Variable Nebula" NGC 2261

Observing the supernova in M82, the brightness was ~ 11.7 mag

The good seeing allowed for many fine details.
