The Munich Camp on Friday

Evening

The night Friday/Saturday started quite good, but became increasingly wet. Around midnight there was a constant mix of fog
and more or less big cloud holes.

The next night Saturday/Sunday was far better, and after midnight I estimated the limiting magnitude to be fst=7.1 near the
zenith, around 3:00 the zodiacal band was easy to see in the area between the Pleiades and Pisces. Among the fainter objects
we observed the supernovae in NGC 5611 and NGC 1084, and some Abell planetaries (Abell 61, 82, 84), as well as six
components of the southern Fornax cluster.

"The horse is neighing strongly", Haley said when observing the Horsehead (B33) in my 16" inch (with H-Beta) -
it could already be glimpsed in his 10" without filter.
