Three times on Ilkahoehe in 2009 / 2010

A rural site on a hill (alt. 728 m) above lake "Starnberger See", about 30 km SW of downtown Munich.

Good rural sky on Saturday, February 28, 2009

Observing from 18:00 to 22:30, with my 10-inch. With Barny, Bela and Johannes (club's youth group), together with some other observers.
Among the objects were comet Lulin in Leo, Saturn and many classical winter highlights, among them also M1, "Hubble's Variable Nebula"
NGC 2261 and the reddish stars in WZ Cas (color contrast) and R Leporis.

Again suitable conditions on Saturday, March 21, 2009

Again with Barny and Johannes, and some additional observers. Barny took his 18-inch along, I used my 10-inch. Observing from 18:30 to 23:30,
many winter and spring highlights; and not least the galaxies M82, NGC 4565 and NGC 4631, plus the globular M3, received much appreciation .

Frosty winter evening on Sunday, January 3, 2010

With Julian and his 10-inch, Johannes (HF) and Ralph, from 17:00 to 21:30. I took along my 120 mm refractor.

Observing many open clusters, including the rich clusters M52, NGC 7789, NGC 663 und NGC 654 in the Cassiopeia region.
While I was active only in the evening and returned home, Ralph and Johannes stayed to watch the Quadrantids - they saw 5 meteors.
