A Leonid observing night in the Sudelfeld area

Night Friday 16 to Saturday 17, 2012

In the Bavarian Alps, a bit away from the road in about 1200 m altitude: Five observers saw about 30 Leonids,
and some other meteors. Without telescope, mostly observing out of the sleeping bag.

Perhaps half an hours walk away were some other observers with big Dobsons, among them Frank, Friedel and Uwe.
About 23:30 I paid them a visit, and could observe a nice "Bear Paw Galaxy" (NGC 2537) in Uwe's 27", and,
as a special treat, the pulsar in the Crab nebula M1 with 600x - with averted vision as one faint component
of a visual double star.
